Ground Zero Map: Streets and Exits | Escape from Tarkov
Confirm the building entrance from the street before switching floors. Connect every indoor target to the doorway used on the extraction route.
Layers this guide uses
Ground Zero has 772 marked features across 4 views. Solve the street entrance before trying to solve the room. An indoor pin may sit close to your position on the screen while its usable doorway faces another street or leads through a different interior level.
Give every target an exterior address
Begin on Surface. Search for the target, then inspect the building outline and nearby connectors. Pick the facade, street corner, or courtyard entrance that leads into the correct part of the building. Do not switch to an interior view until you can describe where the doorway sits from outside.
Show connectors and locked doors around the building. Floor connections identifies documented entrances and changes of level. Keyed doors matters only when the selected target uses that access. Hiding unrelated loot markers makes the wall openings easier to read.
At the raid start, match two street features before committing to a direction. A junction and the corner of a building make a stronger pair than a single sign. If one feature fits but the second does not, you probably chose the wrong side of the block.
Switch views at the doorway
Once you cross the confirmed entrance, choose the level that contains the result:
- Accessible interiors, Lower level covers the lower accessible rooms and their approaches;
- Accessible interiors, Main level contains the principal interior level linked to street entrances;
- Accessible interiors, Upper level shows the upper accessible spaces;
- Surface remains the view for travel between buildings.
Keep the entrance connector selected after changing views. Find the first turn, stair landing, or room shape beyond it. That feature becomes the recovery point if the corridor does not match. Switching floors at random inside a similar hallway usually makes the position less certain.
If the target is loot, enable Loot containers or Loose loot only after choosing the floor. These markers record container locations and possible loose-loot points; they do not promise contents in the current raid. Clear them before returning to the street.
Record the door used on the way out
An interior task is not finished, for navigation purposes, until you know which street you will rejoin. Before moving deeper, choose the same entrance for the return or locate a second connector and the exterior landmark beyond it. Two doors in one building can put you on different sides of the block.
When leaving, return to Surface and check the exterior address again. Do not continue toward extraction while the street side remains uncertain. One corrected doorway costs less time than walking a full block in the wrong direction.
Protect the edge route
Put assigned exits on a clean map, then select the exact names from the in-game list. For Nakatani Basement Stairs, trace the route from the street entrance through the correct interior view. The marker is the destination, not the doorway finder.
Near the boundary, add minefields and sniper zones to extraction markers. Minefields and Sniper zones identify areas to avoid. An open-looking edge is not a shortcut unless the map shows a valid route through it.
Choose a backup exit that branches before the last building or boundary corridor. If both plans rely on the same final doorway, they will fail together when that approach proves wrong.
Check whether the icon is transit
Compare transit points with surface extractions. Transit points and Extraction points have different roles. Read the marker category, destination, and fixed details instead of treating nearby edge icons as interchangeable.
The current raid still controls assignment and live state. Use the map for documented positions and access, then use the in-game information to confirm which option applies.
Questions about Ground Zero
Why can I see the indoor marker but not its entrance?
The pin may belong to another side of the building or another view. Return to the street plan, locate the relevant connector, and follow the wall to its facade. Switch levels only after crossing that doorway.
Are all extraction markers usable in one raid?
No. The map contains known extraction locations, while the in-game list identifies the exits assigned to the current character. Read the marker condition and keep another assigned route available.
