Mortal Shell II
All 8 Shells, 11 map fragments, 22 Glimpses and 7 Corrupted Statues in Mortal Shell 2, plus the chests, keys, weapons, Ova and hidden paths across Fainweald and the Ruins of Mammon. No fog, and nothing you have to pay Gloom to reveal.
Walking through an area in Mortal Shell 2 does not clear the fog on your own map. That only lifts where you find Ruk's statues, and the Shellkeeper charges Gloom to mark Shells for you. This map starts uncovered, so you can read the route to a fragment instead of the fragment alone.

Questions about Mortal Shell II maps
- Why is my Mortal Shell 2 map still covered in fog after I explored the area?
- That is how it works rather than a bug. Walking somewhere reveals nothing. Detail fills in only when you find the statues where Ruk the crow perches and take the map fragment in front of them.
- Where are all 11 map fragments?
- The Map Fragment layer holds 11 markers, which matches the count the community has settled on, and collecting all of them is the Sat Nav achievement. Five are in Fainweald and six in the Ruins of Mammon. The fragments show through the in-game fog, but the route to them does not.
- Where do I find all 8 Shells?
- The Shells layer holds 8 markers: Tiel, Proxima, Eredrim, Smert, Gragu, Genessa, Lazlo and Sariel. Harros is prologue only and never comes back. None of the eight are missable, so you can still finish the set after the final boss, before New Game Plus.
- Why does the last Shell never appear on my map?
- Because the game never marks Genessa. The Shellkeeper at Marrow Keep will reveal the other seven for Gloom, and she leaves that one out. It waits behind the Revenant Graves southeast of the Outskirts of Mammon beacon.
- Where are all 22 Glimpses, and do they respawn?
- The Glimpse layer holds 22 markers, 10 on the Fainweald side and 12 through Mammon. They do not respawn and cannot be farmed, so the supply in one playthrough is fixed. That is the whole reason people look up where the last one is.
- What should I collect before the point of no return?
- One action ends a run: choosing Send Ova at the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep, which appears after Zmey is beaten and rolls the ending with no confirmation. Beating the final boss does not end anything, so the free roam afterwards is when you sweep what you missed.
- Where are the keys, and which chests do they open?
- The Keys layer has 18 overworld pickups. Open it with Gates & Doors to pair the Chapel, Crypt and Dungeon Keys with their locks. The Light Keys sit in three trios near Locked Chests, while the Unremarkable Key belongs to Vlas's cage branch. Blackmarrow Key is not one of the 18. Its description reads, “Opens a locked treasure in the Marrow Keep.” The key's location and the matching treasure are still unknown.
- Where are the Corrupted Statues, and what do they do?
- Seven of them, and the layer holds exactly seven. Each is a survival trial where waves spawn out of the statue. They sit north of Widow's Overlook, near Mushroom Village, in the Ritual Grounds, west of Blackridge Pass, above Hag's Pit and in the Vestige of Infinity.
- Where are the Corrupted Gates, and how does The Unfound Path open?
- Cleansing all four gates in Corrupted Marrow Keep opens The Unfound Path for good, and that brings more beacons, bosses and materials with it. Picking up your first map fragment marks three of the gates in game and leaves the fourth to you.
- Where do I collect Ova, and how many do I need?
- Ova sit in fixed caches rather than dropping from enemies, and cleansing a beacon or a gate releases more. You need 168 to open the final area. The Spoiled Ovum layer holds 54 markers, so read it as where to look rather than as the running total.
- Do enemies respawn, and where are the elites?
- Yes, and the beacon is what does it: resting restores you and repopulates everything around you, which is why the walk back keeps happening. The map plots 918 encounters and 84 elite enemies, so a route can be planned around them rather than into them.
- How do Bone Gates and hidden paths work?
- A Bone Gate throws you across a chasm to a fixed landing point, and several optional areas have no other way in. The map holds 57 of them and 13 hidden paths, including the Bone Gate north of Outskirts of Nochte that reaches Desolate Peak and the Illusionist's Cache.
- Where do I find Weltcap and Common Moonshine for Gorf?
- Weltcap is a mushroom that grows where blood has been spilled, and it comes back, so it is farmable. Gorf trades Marsh Pearls for it. The three bottles of Common Moonshine his questline needs are all reachable in one trip, the last one upstairs in Mushroom Village.
- Does the map show the dungeons and the lifts down to them?
- The Call Lift layer holds 35 markers for the elevators that drop into the optional side areas, with a separate Dungeons layer of 9. Those are the areas that hold the extra weapons, sidearms and healing upgrades, and nothing in the game points you at them.
