Mortal Shell 2 Glimpse Locations: All 22 on the World Map

Mortal Shell 2 hides 22 Glimpse pickups in its open world: ten north of the Marrow Keep on the Fainweald side and twelve south of it through the Ruins of Mammon. Open the Glimpse layer to see the whole spread, with every position verified on LootMap’s interactive map. Glimpse is capped per playthrough, so this is one of the few collectible lists where missing one has a lasting cost.

The in-game description reads: “A ponderous whirl of color, light, and lost reveries. Awakens a Shell’s true purpose.” Awakening is the Shell upgrade path, and the world only holds so many Glimpses per run. One of the most upvoted threads on the game’s subreddit argues Glimpse should not be a finite resource at all, and trophy guides hit the same wall from the other side: full completion lands at NG++ because a single run cannot fully awaken every Shell. Decide early which Shells you actually play, and spend there.

Balance Patch 1, released 2026-08-20, loosened things slightly. Revealing a Shell’s location on the in-game map now costs Gloom instead of Glimpses, and the patch notes placed the refunded Glimpses as a pickup in the Shell Keeper’s alcove in Blackmarrow. If you bought shell locations before the patch, collect that refund before counting yourself short.

Fainweald side: ten pickups north of the Marrow Keep

Running north to south:

• Beside a beacon and a dungeon entrance at the map’s northern edge.
• Its neighbor a short walk southeast, with a Hidden Wall marker right next to it, an illusory wall in player terms. Knock on the scenery before you leave.
• Right beside the Proxima shell pickup.
• Beside another beacon, the one just east of the north-central Map Station.
• In the same northwestern clearing as the Eredrim shell and the 20-egg Ovum pile. One visit there pays out a shell, a Glimpse and twenty eggs.
• On the Gragu claim spot, next to the Troubadour’s Lute sidearm.
• A true double in the east: two Glimpses close enough to touch, beside a beacon and a dungeon marker.
• Right beside the Tiel shell pickup.
• In the west, a few steps north of the Smert pickup.

Mammon side: twelve pickups in the south

Pairs dominate the south.

• Two at the Genessa shell pickup.
• Two east of the Lazlo pickup in the far southwest, near the stone gates: the northern one and its partner a few steps south-southwest.
• A third pair beside a beacon and a dungeon marker on the northwest edge of the Ruins of Mammon.
• Near the three Dungeon Key pickups in the southeast corner.
• Next to the Black Needle weapon pickup and another beacon.
• Right beside the Axatana.
• Practically on top of a beacon in the deep south.
• A final pair at the map’s southern edge, beside the southernmost beacon marker and one of the dungeon markers.

Sweep beacons first, shells second

Two patterns on the map do most of the routing for you. Ten of the 22 Glimpse markers sit right beside a beacon marker, so circle every beacon you cleanse before moving on. Six more sit at a shell pickup: Proxima, Eredrim, Tiel, Gragu, and the pair at Genessa. A shell-hunting run therefore collects over a quarter of this list without trying.

That leaves six that need their own trip: the pair east of Lazlo, the Hidden Wall spot in the far north, the Dungeon Key corner, the Axatana spot, and the lone pickup north of Smert.
