All 97 Palworld Field Boss and Alpha Pal Locations
Palworld has 97 Field Boss points: 90 on the Palpagos Islands covering 63 different Pals, and 7 on the World Tree, with Predator Pals and towers counted separately.
Layers this guide uses
- Palpagos Islands
- Field Boss 90
- Predator Pal 29
- Tower 9
- Sealed Realm 18
- The World Tree
- Field Boss 7
- Tower 4
The Palpagos Islands have 90 Field Boss points and the World Tree has 7, so 97 in total. The Palpagos layer names 63 different Pals across its 90 points, which is the number people usually mean when they ask how many bosses the game has. Open the Field Boss layer and both numbers are visible at once: 90 markers on the map, 63 named rows in the panel.
Field Boss is the game’s own name for what players still call alpha Pals. Predator Pals, towers and Sealed Realms are separate layers with separate counts, and mixing them together is where most conflicting boss totals come from.
Why 90 points is not 90 bosses
Twelve Pals hold more than one Field Boss point on Palpagos:
| Pal | Spawn points |
|---|---|
| Jormuntide | 3 |
| Anubis | 2 |
| Beakon | 2 |
| Blazamut | 2 |
| Dinossom Lux | 2 |
| Jetragon | 2 |
| Knocklem | 2 |
| Menasting | 2 |
| Reptyro | 2 |
| Suzaku | 2 |
| Tarantriss | 2 |
| Whalaska | 2 |
The remaining 51 named Pals have a single point each. 14 of the 90 markers carry no Pal name and show as plain Field Boss.
Practically, the twelve above are the ones worth planning around. If a Jormuntide fight goes badly, there are two more places to try it. For Frostallion, Frostallion Noct, Astegon, Silvegis or any of the other 51, there is exactly one point on the map and nowhere else to go.
To see one boss on its own, click the Field Boss layer, press Hide all and tick the Pal you want. Searching the name works too and jumps the map straight to it.
Predator Pals: 29 points, 29 Pals
The Predator Pal layer has 29 points on Palpagos and one Pal at each, with no repeats and none on the World Tree map:
Blazehowl Noct, Cryolinx Terra, Dazemu, Digtoise, Dinossom, Direhowl, Dogen, Elphidran, Faleris Aqua, Gildane, Gorirat, Jormuntide Ignis, Kitsun, Loupmoon Cryst, Lovander, Maraith, Mossanda, Omascul, Prixter, Ragnahawk, Rayhound, Relaxaurus, Reptyro Cryst, Shroomer, Splatterina, Starryon, Tarantriss, Vanwyrm and Wumpo.
Nine of those names also appear in the Field Boss layer: Cryolinx Terra, Elphidran, Faleris Aqua, Gildane, Loupmoon Cryst, Omascul, Splatterina, Starryon and Tarantriss. The same Pal can be both, at different points on the map, which is another reason boss totals for this game rarely agree. The other 20 Predator Pals appear in no other boss layer.
One point per Pal makes the Predator layer the tidiest of the boss layers. Switch it on and every marker you see is a different fight.
The bosses you cannot meet in the wild
54 of the 63 Field Boss Pals on Palpagos also appear in the Pal habitat layer, so you can meet them as ordinary wild Pals somewhere on the map. Nine cannot be met that way:
Jormuntide, Jetragon, Dualith Noct, Eidrolon, Flaracle, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct, Mossanda Lux and Ophydia.
Three of those nine turn up in the World Tree habitat layer instead: Dualith Noct with 2 markers, Flaracle with 5 and Mossanda Lux with 5. That leaves six Pals whose only marker anywhere is a boss point: Jormuntide, Jetragon, Eidrolon, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct and Ophydia.
Jormuntide is the one of those six with room for error, at 3 points. Jetragon has 2. Eidrolon, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct and Ophydia have a single Field Boss point each and no habitat marker on either map, which makes them the four hardest names on this page to reach by accident.
All 29 Predator Pals are different in this respect. Every one of them also has habitat markers on Palpagos, so a predator point is a specific encounter with a Pal you can find elsewhere.
Towers, Sealed Realms and dungeons
| Layer | Palpagos Islands | World Tree |
|---|---|---|
| Tower | 9 | 4 |
| Sealed Realm | 18 | 0 |
| Dungeon | 170 | 0 |
| Enemy camp | 58 | 0 |
| Field Boss | 90 | 7 |
| Predator Pal | 29 | 0 |
Thirteen towers exist across the two maps, 9 on Palpagos and 4 on the World Tree. Put towers and Sealed Realms on screen together and the 27 markers between them fit on one view without hiding each other.
The Sealed Realm layer holds 18 markers, all on Palpagos. The World Tree has none.
Dungeons are the largest of these layers at 170 entrances, and enemy camps sit at 58. Neither belongs to the boss layers, so a total that folds them in will be much larger than the 97 Field Boss points.
The World Tree’s seven boss points
The World Tree Field Boss layer has 7 points alongside the map’s 4 towers. Five Pals are named across those 7 points: Aegidron, Dualith, Moldron Cryst, Renjishi and Whalaska Ignis. The remaining two markers carry no name.
Dualith is the only one of the five with a Field Boss point on Palpagos as well. Aegidron and Renjishi appear in neither Palpagos boss layer. Moldron Cryst and Whalaska Ignis do not either, though their base forms do: Palpagos has a Moldron point and two Whalaska points, which are different fights against different Pals.
Seven boss points and four towers is a short list next to the 90 and 9 on Palpagos. Together they put 11 markers on a map of 1,385, so both layers can stay switched on permanently without crowding anything.
Planning a boss run
Field Boss and Predator points sit still, so a route is worth building once. A few things the map settles for you before you set off:
- Whether the Pal you want has one point or several. The panel count answers it in a glance.
- Whether two boss points sit close enough to clear in one trip. Switch on Field Boss and Predator Pal together and look for pairs.
- What else is on the way. Turn a resource layer on over the same view and the detour becomes free.
Mark each boss point as you clear it. Marks live in your own browser and are kept per map, so Palpagos and the World Tree track separate progress, and Hide marked takes the cleared points off the map so only the fights you have left are drawn.
