Layers this guide uses

Orbis has 1,498 treasure chests above ground, and the game sorts them into five tiers: 551 Premium, 355 Rare, 299 Regular, 181 Hero and 112 Legendary. Open the chest layer to put all of them on screen with the other 13,557 markers switched off.

Regular299

Legendary112

Those five tier names are the game’s own, as of build 24597321. Premium is more than a third of the total, so a full sweep spends most of its time on Premium chests. Legendary is the shortest list at 112, which is why most people finish that tier first.

Chests are worth opening even if collection counters do nothing for you. Each one pays out Awakening Points, one or two per chest, and Awakening Points feed straight into character progression. Across 1,498 chests that adds up whether or not you were collecting on purpose.

What this map does not cover

The 1,498 count is the Orbis overworld. Dungeon interiors are separate spaces and their contents are not drawn here. Orbis has 26 dungeon entrances and 23 Dimensional Rifts on the surface, and you can see where all of those doors are, but a chest sitting three rooms inside one of them is not part of the count above.

Dragon Sword Awakening treats the two separately as well. Opening every chest inside dungeons is its own achievement, tracked apart from the exploration achievements that cover the open world. Use this map for the surface and the instance itself for what is behind a dungeon door.

Filter the map down to one tier

The chest layer has a checkbox per tier, and the URL carries whatever you switch off. A link with off= in it hides those tiers and leaves the rest, so you can hand someone a view of exactly one tier.

The two that matter most are the ends of the range. Show only the 112 Legendary Chests when you want the short list. Show only the 181 Hero Chests when you have already cleared Legendary and want the next-shortest pass.

For the other three tiers, open the chest layer and untick the ones you do not want in the panel. The address bar updates as you click, so the link you copy is the view you are looking at.

Work one region at a time

Sweeping 1,498 chests in map order does not work, because the map does not care where you are. Orbis carries 47 named Locations, and those labels are the practical unit for a chest run. Turn them on next to the chests with chests plus region labels, then pick a label and clear everything inside it before you move.

The 47 labels include Meadow of Beginnings, Morninglight Farm, Hill of Journey, Shadowed Woods, Bluehill Wetlands, Stronghold Ridge, Steelheart Fortress, Two Lakes Hill, Amber Harbor, Starshade Forest, Dragonrise Basin, Skyridge Uplands and Twilight Field. Clear one, then take the label next to it rather than the next one down a list.

A region pass also lets you use the search box properly. Type a Location name into the map search and it will center there, which is faster than dragging across a 4,096 by 4,096 pixel map.

Anchor each run to a Warp Point

Even inside one region, a chest run works better when it starts somewhere you can return to. Chests with the 19 Warp Points on top shows you which teleport sits closest to the cluster you are about to clear, so you can bank the region, warp out when your bags fill, and warp back to the same corner instead of retracing the whole approach.

That view also exposes the parts of Orbis where the nearest Warp Point is a long way off. Those areas are the ones to clear in a single deliberate trip rather than in the ten minutes before you log off, because the walk in is the expensive part and you only want to pay it once.

The 29 chests a Treasure Map leads you to

Twenty-nine of the 1,498 are not chests you walk into. They are dig sites, and they only become reachable once you use a Treasure Map. On the map they have their own layer, so you can see all 29 at once.

Of those 29, twenty-eight are Legendary Chests and one is a Hero Chest. That is why the Legendary layer alone will not get you to 112 by walking: a quarter of that tier is buried, and no amount of exploring reveals it without the map item in hand. The chest layer shows the position either way, so you can plan around them and come back once you have Treasure Maps.

Marking off what you have opened

Open a chest’s card on the map and there is a Mark button on it. Marked chests live in your own browser, per map, with no account involved. The layer panel counts what you have marked and gives you a Hide marked switch, so the chest layer shows only what you have left to open.

Two habits make that hold up over 1,498 entries.

  1. Mark the chest the moment you open it in game, not at the end of a session. A batch of “I think I got that one” guesses is worse than no record.
  2. Keep the tier filter matched to what you are doing. If you are on a Legendary pass, hide the other four tiers so a Premium chest you skipped on purpose does not read as a miss later.

The number to work against in DragonSword : Awakening is 1,498, broken down as 551 Premium, 355 Rare, 299 Regular, 181 Hero and 112 Legendary. All of it reads out of game build 24597321.
