Mistfall Hunter Chest Locations: 2,998 Containers Mapped

Layers this guide uses

There are 2,998 containers across the three maps: 1,528 in Hallowgrove, 806 on Brandrgarde North and 664 on Brandrgarde South. Loose loot is counted separately and adds another 326 markers. The treasure layer is on by default, so opening Hallowgrove shows all 1,528 at once.

Most of those containers carry a named type, and the names are the part worth using. Brandrgarde North sorts 803 of its 806 into 44 named types and Brandrgarde South 663 of its 664 into 43. Hallowgrove names 1,207 of its 1,528 across 51 types and leaves the other 321 with no type name.

Hallowgrove1,52851108168 containers
Brandrgarde North8064496114 containers
Brandrgarde South6644312288 containers

Hallowgrove is both the biggest map and the most concentrated. Its thickest patch, in the south west around x 625 and y 1,600, packs 168 containers into a 200 unit radius, and the nearest exit is 229 units away. Drop straight onto it and you can see the cluster fill the screen.

Brandrgarde North’s densest patch holds 114 containers around x 1,425 and y 1,250, but its nearest exit sits 338 units off. Brandrgarde South’s best patch is smaller at 88 containers around x 1,425 and y 650, with an exit only 82 units away. Density and safety pull in opposite directions across these three maps, and which one you want depends on what your bag looks like when you get there.

Container types on all three maps

Twenty seven named types appear on all three maps. These eighteen are the ones where the counts differ enough to change which map you load into.

Gift of Fate is the clearest case. Hallowgrove has 140 of them, more than three times Brandrgarde North’s 44 and Brandrgarde South’s 46. If that is the container you are after, Hallowgrove is where the odds are.

Iron Chest runs the other way. Brandrgarde South has 48, nearly seven times Hallowgrove’s 7. Copper Chest follows the same pattern at 25 against 6. Silver Chest and Gilded Chest both climb toward Hallowgrove instead, at 45 and 18 against 2 and 2 on Brandrgarde North.

Some markers record two or three possible containers instead of one, and they are listed under a combined name such as Silver Chest / Gilded Chest. There are 36 of these on Brandrgarde North, 34 in Hallowgrove and 24 on Brandrgarde South. They show up as their own entries in the layer list, so switching Silver Chest off does not hide them.

Ore and the types only Brandrgarde has

If you are looking for ore, Hallowgrove is the wrong map. It has no ore piles at all. The three ore pile types come to 74 markers and every one of them sits on a Brandrgarde map.

Brandrgarde North is the ore map. It carries 48 of the 74 ore piles and is the only map anywhere with Thermal Vents, Forge Furnaces and Timber Chests. One patch around x 725 and y 757 has 8 Small Ore Piles and 3 Thermal Vents inside a 200 unit circle, with a Soul Ferry 85 units away, and that combination of gathering and a short walk out is unusual on this map. Open Brandrgarde North’s containers and pan to the upper left to find it.

Container types only Hallowgrove has

Bone Urn nearly belongs on that list. Hallowgrove has 13 and Brandrgarde South has exactly 1, which makes searching for it anywhere other than Hallowgrove a waste of a run.

Oath Chest is the rarest of these at 6 markers, with Sacred Tree Sac next at 9. Across all three maps the rarest named container is Timber Chest, with 4 markers, all of them on Brandrgarde North. For anything in single figures, filter the layer down to that one type and walk to it deliberately. You will not pass one by chance.

Filtering the layer down to one container type

Every named type is its own row in the layer list, with its own checkbox and its own count. Switching a type off records it in the address bar as an off= value, which means the view you built is the link you can send someone.

That is how you turn 806 markers into the handful you care about. If you would rather not see the loose containers scattered through the scenery on Brandrgarde North, for instance, this view hides seven of those types and leaves 582 markers on screen instead of 806.

The same works in reverse. Switch every type off except one and the map shows you exactly where that container appears, which is the fastest way to answer a question like where the Gilded Chests are.

What the Solo and Team labels mean

Click any container and its detail card names the run mode it was recorded under. The split is worth knowing before you read a total as a promise.

Read the counts in this article as what the maps record, not as a headcount of what a single run puts in front of you. Half of Brandrgarde North’s containers carry a Team label and no Solo one, Brandrgarde South is just under half, and in Hallowgrove 465 containers carry neither label. Open a marker before you plan a run around it.

Hallowgrove markers also carry Day and Night labels, which the Brandrgarde maps do not use at all. Every one of Hallowgrove’s 1,528 containers carries a Day label, and not one of them carries Night.
