Silksong Act 3 Black Thread Locations and Route Map
The Act 3 Black thread layer contains 47 markers across Pharloom; keep it off before Act 3 if location names or changed areas would spoil progression.
Layers this guide uses
Spoiler warning: the Silksong Black thread layer contains 47 Act 3 change points across Pharloom. Leave it off until reaching Act 3 if changed locations, character states or route clues would spoil the game.
The map uses the same Pharloom sheet for Acts 1 to 3. Act 3 is a layer, not a separate map.
What the Black thread count means
| Act 3 layer | Markers |
|---|---|
| Black thread | 47 |
| Quests | 13 |
| Characters | 213 |
| Benches | 85 |
The 47 markers are places tagged for Black thread changes. They are not a 47-step quest list and do not measure Act 3 completion percentage.
Open an Act 3 route
- Turn on Black thread after reaching Act 3.
- Select a Character subtype, search an indexed item or pan to the named region.
- Add Quests and Characters.
- Add Benches for the approach.
- Keep unrelated Collectibles and Enemies off until the route is centered.
Black thread, quests, characters and benches contains 358 markers. Narrow Characters by subtype or pan to the current region before planning the route.
Green Prince and later Pharloom states
Green Prince has four Character records that can represent different positions or story states. Select Green Prince from the Characters type list, keep Black thread on and choose the marker that matches the region and current objective.
Do not mark every Green Prince point after one meeting. Each record can still matter later.
The same map, different state
Benches, passages and shops remain on the base Pharloom sheet. Black thread adds Act 3 context over them. That makes comparison easy but can create overlapping markers.
Select the Act 3 result and read its category before choosing a nearby base-game pin. Two records at one position can describe different states rather than duplicate data.
Track Act 3 without hiding the base map
Mark Black thread points as you resolve or inspect them, then hide marked. Leave base-game collectibles alone unless they were also completed. Marks belong to individual markers, so the Act 3 overlay and original location records can be tracked separately.
For a moving story task, save the selected deep link instead of marking every related character and quest record.
When a marker appears inactive
Act progression decides whether the event, NPC or change is active. If the marked position is empty, check the current objective and required story state before changing routes.
If the route is blocked, add Passages and Locked ways after zooming in. Pharloom’s vertical connections can place the correct point behind a longer approach than the flat map suggests.
