DragonSword Awakening NPC Location Guide for Orbis
The Orbis NPC layer contains 577 markers; repeated characters can have several story-state or area records, so search may return several positions.
Layers this guide uses
The DragonSword Awakening NPC layer contains 577 markers. Search the character’s official name, select the relevant result, and add Location plus Warp Point for the route. A character can have several markers because story state or area can place the same name at more than one recorded position.
Characters with the most markers
| Character or NPC label | Markers |
|---|---|
| Hog | 79 |
| Lute | 59 |
| Othello | 48 |
| Johnny | 47 |
| Veronica | 41 |
| Castella | 39 |
| Jerome | 38 |
| Aria | 33 |
| Charlotte | 26 |
| Bounty Hunter Weldon | 14 |
| Cerese | 14 |
| Alvwyn | 9 |
| Rex | 8 |
| Ornette | 7 |
| Pola | 7 |
| Theresia | 5 |
| Reina | 1 |
Theresia, Charlotte, Reina and Lute all have searchable NPC positions. Use the result count to tell a single fixed position from a character who moves between several recorded places.
Find the right version of a character
- Open NPCs and search the exact name.
- Keep every result visible at first.
- Add the 47-marker Location layer.
- Choose the result in the region that matches the current quest.
- Add Warp Point for the approach.
NPCs with locations and Warp Points has 643 markers before search. A name filter is required for a clean route.
Why one name has many markers
Lute has 59 records and Charlotte has 26. Those totals do not mean dozens of characters share the name. They are separate positions or story states for the same character.
Choose the marker whose region matches the task. Marking every result after meeting the character once would erase useful later positions from the map.
NPCs and monsters use different layers
A named combat target may live under Monsters, Field Boss or Sudden Missions rather than NPCs. Search checks hidden layers, so read the result’s category and then open the combat layer that matches the task.
The reverse also matters. A common name can return a person, monster and place. Use the parent category to decide what each result means.
Route to an NPC
The closest Warp Point on the flat sheet may sit below a cliff or across a blocked path. Keep Location labels visible and inspect the terrain. For an NPC tied to a dungeon or quest area, add that entrance layer only after selecting the correct character record.
Quest progress controls dialogue and party eligibility. If the selected NPC is absent, confirm the current quest region and required story step before trying another marker.
Progress marks
Mark an NPC position when you have learned that specific state or route. Hide marked is useful for a survey of merchants and quest givers. Leave repeated story characters visible until the related step is complete.
For a frequently visited NPC, save the selected deep link instead of marking every same-name record. That keeps the exact destination available without changing the rest of the checklist.
