Palworld Chest Map: 9,840 Locations and Route Tips
The two Palworld maps contain 9,840 chest markers: 9,112 on Palpagos and 728 on the World Tree, plus a separate 109-marker elemental chest layer.

There are 9,840 chest markers across the two Palworld maps: 9,112 on the Palpagos Islands and 728 on the World Tree. Palpagos also has a separate Elemental chest layer with 109 markers. Use that layer when the chest type matters, and use the general Chest layer for a completion sweep.
Choose the right chest layer
The three useful views answer different questions.

Do not add the 109 elemental markers to the 9,840 general total. They belong to a separate category and may describe the same physical chest set from a different angle. Treat each layer as its own index.
Make a route that stays readable
Nine thousand pins are useful as a database and terrible as a route. Start with the area you can actually reach.
- Open Chest and Great Eagle Statue.
- Zoom into one island or one side of the World Tree.
- Pick an unlocked travel point as the start.
- Follow a short loop that returns to a second travel point.
- Mark each chest as you open it and hide marked points before planning the next loop.
Palpagos with chests and travel points gives you 9,249 markers before you zoom. The density drops quickly once the viewport covers one region. On the World Tree, the same combination is 743 markers and can be cleared in smaller sections.
Height matters on both maps. A pin near a cliff line may sit above or below the route you are following. Check nearby entrances, ramps and Great Eagle Statues before walking straight at it, because the practical approach may begin on another level.
Chest routes near other objectives
A chest sweep works better when it pays for the travel you already planned. Add one task layer at a time:
- Mining for an ore run with nearby chests.
- Pal Effigy for collectible cleanup.
- Dungeon for a cave route on Palpagos.
- Field Boss when you want to avoid or include an encounter.
The World Tree has no Dungeon layer. On that map, Chests pair best with Mining, Notes, Effigies and Great Eagle Statues.
Track chest progress without losing the route
A map marker records a chest location, while your mark records that you have dealt with that position. Those are different facts.
Keep permanent exploration progress marked. If you want to practise a route again, leave its stops unmarked and save the filtered deep link instead. This prevents a route plan from turning a completion checklist back into a wall of pins.
When a chest is hard to reach
Check the vertical level, current layer and search filter. A point near a cliff, ruin or cave may require an approach that begins away from the marker.
Clear the search, keep only Chest on, and inspect the nearby terrain. Add Dungeon or Great Eagle Statue when an entrance or travel point helps identify the correct approach.
